The Alternator
The alternator made by Metropolitan Vickers in the 1940s and was fitted second hand in 1973 to provide electrical power and lighting for the mill during the frequent power cuts caused by the 1970s oil crisis. It was driven from the engine via 5 belts off the second motion shaft pulley.
